Rockford Scanner™: Shot Fired While Officers Working A Scene on N Main

What allegedly may have happened:
Unknown

The approximate neighborhood:
N Main in front of Singer

The approximate time:
3 am ish

At the time of posting this:
Have officials released any information, that we are aware of?
No, they have not, if they do, we will update this.

Overnight approx 3 am several Rockford PD officers were working a scene. 

At the time of posting this, Rockford PD have not released any information. 

I can only tell you while I was on scene filming. 

I personally heard one distinct gunshot. 
That came from the officer’s direction. 

The single gunshot was very close to me. 

Officers had the area blocked off. 

So, I was unable to see exactly what happened. 

And trust me, they were not happy I was on the scene filming. 
And tried to move me along… 

I can only confirm from what I personally witnessed. 

• 1 female wearing a White blanket. 
• Several Rockford PD on scene
  Rockford PD does NOT respond to accidents, without injuries.
  They make the people involved,
  Go to a district police station to file the accident report. 
• N Main was shut down
• 1 vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway. 
  With Rockford PD officer squads behind it. 
• 1 distinct and close gunshot 
• —> Rockford PD not happy I was on scene filming, 
  —> And moved me along… 

UPDATE:
Call logs show this incident as an
“Accident with property damage”
Again, Rockford PD does not respond to accidents, without injuries. 
They make the drivers involved, go to the district police station to file the report.
But all these RPD officers, and N Main shut down.
And a single gunshot.

Was it an accident involving a deer?  
If so, WHY so many officers on scene? 
What really happened???
