3424 ELVA LN

 Alleged Approx. Time:
6:45 am

Early this morning several Rockford Fire Department firefighters
responded to a structure fire on the NW side of Rockford.

It happened just after 6 :30 am
In the 34 block of Elva ln.

That is located near Rockton and Halsted.

The following units responded:

  • 2 chiefs
  • 1 ambulance
  • 2 ladder trucks
  • 3 engines
  • Total of 20 firefighters

Rockford Fire Department quickly arrived on scene
and confirmed smoke showing from the front of the structure.

Rockford firefighters quickly established a line and went inside.
They quickly located the fire in the laundry area,
In the basement of the residence.

Firefighters were quick on scene and contained the fire to the room of origin.

The Rockford FD investigators are investigating the cause of the fire.
And ruled the fire to be accidental.

Estimated damages are approx. $35,000.00.

The Red Cross is assisting the family.
