What Allegedly Happened
Based on the current information,
That has been provided to us.
44-year-old Antoine D. Lovelace of Elgin, IL,
and 29-year-old Cody J. Matthews of Morengo, IL
on charges of First Degree Murder (Class X Felony),
Aggravated Unlawful Restraint (Class X Felony),
and Concealment of a Homicidal Death (Class 3 Felony).
On September 19, 2023, all three were taken into custody without incident. Lovelace was housed at the Will County Jail, Burnett and Matthews are awaiting extradition from out of state jurisdictions. No further information will be disseminated.
