Rockford Police Accepting Entry-Level and
Lateral Applications for Police Officers

ROCKFORD, Ill. – It’s that time of year again where the Rockford Police Department is
accepting applications for entry-level officers. Until June 30, 2023, we are seeking
candidates that are effective problem solvers, critical thinkers, and good communicators,
both verbal and written.

NOTE: The starting salary for entry-level officers is $66,240.
Below are dates/times that we’ll be out in the community for interested individuals to
meet directly with the RPD Recruitment Team.
June 24 Stateline Business Expo 9am-4pm
June 25 Stateline Business Expo 10am-3pm
June 27 Peak Sports Club – Perryville 5pm-7pm

Dates and times are subject to change and changes/additions will be posted on RPD’s
Facebook Page.

We are also accepting applications until September 1, 2023, for officers to lateral to our
Department. What does that mean? A current officer, who’s been an officer for at least a
year, can apply to “lateral” to the Rockford Police Department. All the details are in our
Lateral Transfer Guide at RPDWANTSYOU.com.
