Based on the current information that has been provided to us.
Two shooting/shots fired incidents being reported today:
The first shots fired incident happened shortly after 4 o’clock this morning in the area of Ridge Ave, Bruce St, North Ave and Napoleon Street in Rockford.
Multiple gunshots were heard in the area.
No reports of any injuries in this incident.
The second incident reportedly happened shortly after 10 o’clock this morning with multiple gunshots in the area of S Perryville Rd and Newburg Rd. Initial reports are this incident started at the YMCA on S Perryville Rd. (1475 S Perryville Rd)
It’s unclear if anyone was actually shot in this incident or if just the vehicle was hit by gunfire.
Police call logs do confirm police are investigating both these incidents.
We will update if further information is released.
