Update from the Rockford PD:
William Jones, the man charged with the murder of Peggy Anderson at Pinnon’s in early January,
is now in custody in Huntsville, Alabama.
A full news release will follow later this morning.
Warrant Issued for Suspect in Murder at Pinnon’s
ROCKFORD, Ill. – On Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at approximately 3:18 p.m., Rockford
Police Officers responded to Pinnon’s, 2324 North Court Street, for a report of an Armed
Robbery. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, 63-year-old Peggy Anderson, suffering from
an apparent gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to
her injuries.
Rockford Police Detectives conducted an investigation and were able to identify the suspect as
William Jones. After a review of the facts of the case, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s
Office authorized the charges listed below for Jones, and a warrant for his arrest has been
issued. He is not in custody at this time.

The charges are merely accusations and all individuals are considered innocent unless proven
guilty in a court of law.
