Rockford Scanner™: Numerous Burglaries Near South Beloit




Several sources have told us about numerous burglaries that happened near the S Beloit area last night.

One source said: “Hello, I live in South Beloit Illinois. Our neighborhood was hit by thieves last night. Many neighbors had wallets and items stolen from cars. My husband lost a wallet and they stole my mother’s 2016 Honda Accord. An officer just called to inform my husband that found his wallet in a pile of other wallets outside a home on the west side of Rockford. I was hoping you could notify your followers to be on the look out for our 2016 Honda Accord, metallic grey with plates ZY28065. Thank you in advance for any help you can give.”

South Beloit Police and Rockford Police have yet to confirm this or release any information.

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Fire At A South Beloit Business




Sources are reporting a fire at a S Beloit business.

It happened around 8 PM at the Axium Foods in the 200 block of Oak Grove.

A fire broke out in a fryer in the production line and then spread.

The fire was quickly contained and extinguished.

No injuries were reported.

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Fireworks Accident During An Event At A Local School




 

Madison who is a senior at Hononegah sent us the following video from last night’s fireworks mishap at the Hononegah High School Purple & Gold Fest 2019 at the Hononegah High School.   

As you can see there was a fireworks mishap, unknown on injuries. Watch the video below. 

The firework show was from 9:45-10 pm according to their website








 

Rockford Scanner™: MABAS For A Structure Fire Near S Beloit




Sources are reporting a structure fire in S Beloit.

A MABAS box 11 to the box level (Mutual Aid) was toned out for a structure fire in the 200 block of S Bluff in S. Beloit around 1:30am.  Unknown what kind of structure is on fire.

Several area fire departments were assisting with the fire.

Unknown on injuries. Unknown on the cause of the fire.

No other information.

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Small Child Drowned In A Pool, In South Beloit




 

Sources are reporting a small child has drowned in South Beloit over the weekend.  

It happened on Sunday around 2:15 pm in the 14100 block of Kirane ct in South Beloit.   

We have been told a small child approx. 4 years old has drowned in a swimming pool near this location. 

Police have yet to release information on this.

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Drug Bust in South Beloit, 1 Arrested




 

On June 14, 2019 at approximately 2:00pm, South Beloit Police Officers conducted a search warrant at 821 Marvin St. A search of the residence revealed approximately 6 pounds of suspected cannabis and 3.8 grams of suspected cocaine.

This case was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office whom authorized the following charges:

Arrested: 20 year old Jalen K. Olander of South Beloit, IL

Charge: Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance within 500 feet of a Park (Class X Felony)

Charge: Possession with the Intent to Deliver Cannabis (Class 1 Felony)

Charge: Obstructing Justice (Class 4 Felony)

Charge: Contributing to the Delinquency or Criminal Delinquency of a Minor (Class A Misdemeanor)

Charge: Endangering the Life or Health of a Child (Class A Misdemeanor)

Jalen was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.

The charges against him are accusations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Several area fire departments in route to battle a structure fire near Rockton/S. Beloit




 

Around 3 PM several fire departments were responding to a working structure fire near Rockton.

A Mabas box 12 to the box alarm was toned out just after 3 PM today.

It happened in the 1300 block of Fisher Road near Rockton/ South Beloit

Reports of a working structure fire near this location and several area fire departments are in route to assist. This is still developing








 

Rockford Scanner™: CAUGHT ON VIDEO: Burglary To A S. Beloit Business




On Monday, April 15, 2019 the Victory Slots located at 314 S. Park Avenue was burglarized at approximately 3:45 am. The suspect entered the building by breaking the door window at the rear and then pried open two gaming machines.

Video surveillance shows a white male, possibly wearing cargo pants, a gray colored sweatshirt with writing on the front of it, a black or dark hooded shirt under the sweatshirt and red shoes.

The subject appeared to be wearing gloves and had a mask over his face. The suspect entered a dark colored sedan that was parked across the street in the Bubbles and Bows parking lot.

Rockford Scanner™: Serious Accident Scene Near S. Beloit, Avoid The Area




Sources are reporting a serious accident scene near S. Beloit

It happened around 2:05 am near Willowbrook and Stateline.

Reports of a serious accident near this location and injuries were being reported.  Reports of multiple people are unconscious.

This sounds like a pretty bad accident, so you want to avoid the area for several hours.

Rockford Scanner™: Shots Fired & High Speed Police Chase

We are investigating a report of shots fired that occurred during a disturbance in the 1800 block of Wisconsin Avenue at 1:54 a.m. Monday. An individual in a vehicle fired several rounds, striking a vehicle and a house, following the disturbance that involved acquaintances.

Officers nearby observed the suspect vehicle and pursued it as it fled the area going southbound on Interstate 90. The South Beloit Police Department placed stop sticks on the interstate and the vehicle was stopped shortly after crossing the state line.

The vehicle went into the ditch and two males fled from the vehicle on foot. The driver, Emily A. Morris, 26, of Darien, stayed in the vehicle and was taken into custody for felony fleeing. One of the males who fled from the vehicle, Jared D. Johnson, 27, of Janesville, was arrested for recklessly endangering safety and felony bail jumping.

We are still investigating the involvement of the second male who fled from the vehicle. If anyone has information about the disturbance on Wisconsin Avenue or about the three individuals who were in the vehicle pursued by our department, please contact us at 608-757-2244

 


Overnight several area police departments were involved in a high speed chase.  It stemmed from a shooting incident in Beloit bear Wisconsin and Bayliss. Several shots were fired.

Police located the suspect vehicle a short time later. The suspect vehicle fled from police. Speeds were well over 100 MPH at times during the chase.

During the chase, the suspect went off road.

They fled into Illinois. South Beloit Police threw out stop sticks to stop the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle hit the stop sticks.  The suspect vehicle pulled over and they fled on foot.

One was held at gunpoint.  They got another suspect a short time later.  One is still at large.  The suspects were last seen westbound jumping a fence from I-90 going into the  area near of the S Beloit ramp.

Numerous police officers from several departments are assisting with the search of the suspects.
