Rockford Police released the following info:
On Saturday, July 15, 2023, at approximately
2:20 a.m., Rockford Police officers responded to the 2900 block of Kishwaukee for a
shooting victim and a car crash. Upon arrival, officers were advised that as the car, with
three occupants, was driving north on Kishwaukee, two men shot towards the vehicle.
The driver lost control of the car and struck a utility pole. The backseat passenger, a
juvenile female, was shot in the arm, and transported to a local hospital for her non-life-
threatening injury. The driver, an 18-year-old male, had to be extricated from the car,
and suffered serious injuries from the crash. The front seat passenger fled from the
scene.
