RPD say they log their shots fired calls as “Weapons Violations”


Several sources reporting a hostage situation in Rockford.

Sources are also reporting shots were fired, unknown on injuries.

It is currently happening in the area of the 1600 block of S 4th in Rockford.

Officers have the house surrounded and have their rifles and a sniper on scene.

UPDATE: Around 7:15 pm, Police say the house was unoccupied. 

Just before 7 pm, they said there was a person in custody and had medical issue.

This afternoon an armed man was holding the Rockford Police at bay during a standoff on the East Side. 

It happened in the area of the 2700 block of Guilford  

Details are minimal.  

Just before 7 pm, they said a person was in custody and having a medical issue. 

Unknown if it is the suspect or a victim. 

Unknown if it is related, but there was a sexual assault being reported as well.

Rockford Scanner™: Possible Shooting and Standoff in Rockford




 

UPDATE:

On June 2, 2018 at 5:30 a.m. officers of the Rockford Police Department responded to the 900 block of N. Rockton reference a shot fired. Upon arrival officers met with a woman who reported a female just shot at her. The victim said the suspect went into a house in the area after the shooting. While on scene, officers met with people in the area who reported there may be other subjects in the house with the shooting suspect. Officers surrounded the house and attempted to call out the occupants. There was no response. Members of the Rockford Police Department Negotiations Unit and SWAT Team were called out to assist. At 10:15 a.m. the suspect in the shooting, Dominique Patterson, came to the Winnebago County Criminal Justice Center and requested to talk to the police. She was taken to District Two-Detective Bureau.

Officers remained on scene in the 900 block of N. Rockton and at 11:40 a.m. another subject, Larry Gary, came out of the house. A search of the home resulted in the recovery of one gun and a quantity of ammunition. A second gun was recovered in a nearby yard. Both guns were reported stolen.

Members of the Rockford Police Department Detective Bureau continued the investigation. The results of investigation were reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. The following charges were authorized:

AGGRAVATED DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM
POSSESSION OF A STOLEN FIREARM

LARRY J. GARY
44 YEARS OF AGE ROCKFORD RESIDENT

ARMED HABITUAL CRIMINAL
UNLAWFUL USE OF WEAPONS OF A FELON
POSSESSION OF A STOLEN FIREARM (2 COUNTS)

The charges against the suspects are merely accusations and not evidence of their guilt. As with defendants in all criminal cases they are considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.


Starting around 6 am, an RS Fan contacted us about a possible shooting and now standoff at Rockton Ave and Bruce St. 

The road Rockton Ave is closed from Bruce to Whitman. 

It is reported that a female in a house nearby shot a male.  We can not confirm this though, this is only speculation at this time. 

As of 9:39 am, the standoff/negotiations were still ongoing. 

Several Rockford Police and the SWAT team are on the scene.

Around 2 pm today several officers were on a scene.

Sources tell us there is a suicidal subject that barricaded themselves in a house in Rockford.

It happened near Andrews, on the west side.

Numerous police officers are on the scene.

They have the house surrounded.
