A look at the coming four days shows highs more typical for mid-September than late October.

Wind gusts today will be to 30 to near 35 mph.

There is a chance of scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm Sunday night,
with shower chances very slowly spreading in early next week.

The combination of breezy winds gusting around 30 mph and low humidity this afternoon will lead to an elevated risk for brush fire spread across northeastern Illinois and northwest Indiana especially for areas south of I-88. Any planned burning should be avoided until after winds ease and humidity’s  increase late this evening.
