Weapons Charges and More During Traffic Stop
ROCKFORD, Ill. – On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at approximately 8:15 p.m., Rockford
Police SCOPE officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with four adults and a small
child in the area of Auburn and Kilburn. During the stop, officers located and recovered a
loaded handgun.
After a review of the facts of the case, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office
authorized the charges listed below for Anthony Strickland and Stanisha Bryant. They
were taken into custody and lodged in the County Jail.
Anthony Strickland, 31, Rockford
Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon
No Valid FOID
Stanisha Bryant, 33, Rockford
Aggravated Driving Under the Influence
Child Endangerment
Various Traffic Offenses
The charges are merely accusations and all individuals are considered innocent unless
proven guilty in a court of law.
