Rockford PD Release:
Burglary Suspect Identified and Charged
On June 25, 2024, the Rockford Police Department asked for the
public’s assistance in locating a suspect for two local burglaries: UW Health Swedish
American Hospital located at 209 9th Street on June 21, 2024, and OSF Center for Health
located at 5510 E. State Street on June 13, 2024.
Rockford Police Financial Crimes Detectives, along with other partner agencies and
information from citizens, were able to identify the suspect as Tory Tolbert. Tolbert is
not in custody at this time.
After a review of the facts of the case, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office
authorized the charges listed below.
Tory Tolbert, 41, Gary, IN Burglary (2 counts)
Possession of Another’s Credit/Debit Card
Theft (Misdemeanor and Felony)
The charges are merely accusations and all individuals are considered innocent unless
proven guilty in a court of law.
