Man Charged with Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault
ROCKFORD, IL – On Thursday, June 20, 2024, the Rockford Police Department was contacted to
investigate a report of a sexual assault to a juvenile under the age of 13.
The Rockford Police Department’s Sensitive Crimes Unit conducted a follow-up investigation
into the incident and identified the suspect as 22-year-old Nardjay Johnson. The victim and
suspect were known to each other.
On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, Rockford Police Detectives located Johnson in the 300 block of
Cameron Avenue. He was taken into custody and lodged in the County Jail. The Winnebago
County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and authorized the charges listed below.

The charges are merely accusations and all individuals are considered innocent unless proven
guilty in a court of law.
