SHOTS FIRED INCIDENT
On June 21, 2024 at 1:14 PM, Officers of the Freeport Police Department responded to a report of gunshots being fired in the 300 Block of W Douglas St. Officers arrived on scene shortly after receiving the call.
During the investigation Officers learned that two male subjects were fighting when the suspect fired shots towards the victim who was not struck by the gunfire. The suspect then fled the scene in a silver SUV. Officers were able to locate evidence at the scene. There are no reports of any persons being injured in the incident and no reports of damage.
At this time, it is believed this incident was not a random act of violence. The Freeport Police department is investigating the incident and is asking for anyone who has any information to contact either the Freeport Police Department at 815-235-8222, or Stateline Area Crime Stoppers at 866-TIPSNOW or through texting at Tip411.
