Allegedly What May Have Happened: Charges against two men for a double stabbing that happened in the early morning hours of May 20th- (this month)
Alleged Approx. Location: 1800 block of Millbrook Lane/Cherry Valley
Alleged Approx. Time: May 20th @ 3:25 am
ARREST MADE: On May 20th, 2024 at 0324 hours, Cherry Valley police officers were dispatched to 1800 block of Millbrook Lane for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers learned that two subjects were stabbed. One subject was self-transported to a local hospital and the other victim was transported by Cherry Valley Fire ambulance.
The Cherry Valley Police Department requested assistance from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department. Winnebago County Sheriff’s Detectives conducted an investigation and learned that several subjects arrived to the Millbrook Townhomes where an altercation occurred. During the altercation, one of the victim’s was stabbed 9 times.
The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the facts of this case and authorized the following charges:
Kyle H. Condon (25 years old) of Rockford, IL
-Aggravated Battery Causing Great Bodily Harm
-Aggravated Battery Use of a Deadly Weapon
Steven D. Mendez (24 years old) of Chicago, IL
-Aggravated Battery Causing Great Bodily Harm
-Aggravated Battery Use of a Deadly Weapon
The charges against Kyle Condon and Steven Mendez are merely accusations and they are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
