Still Time to Register for the Rockford Fire 911 Run
ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Rockford Fire Department will be hosting the 20th Annual 911 Run on Saturday, June 1, 2024. The 3K race (just shy of 2 miles) will begin at 9:11 a.m. at Fire Station 5, located at 391 N. Trainer Road in Rockford. This event is a fundraiser for community education in fire prevention, safety, and risk reduction. All age groups, from toddlers to senior citizens, benefit from these programs. Rockford Fire has direct contact with over 60,000 people per year and reach many more through the use of social media and public service announcements. Rockford Fire utilizes many training aids to provide fire and medical education to our community.
In addition to fire safety education, part of the proceeds of this event are used to fund the Illinois Fire Safety Alliances’ “Camp I Am Me”. The IFSA holds this special and unforgettable camping experience for young children who have sustained burns, providing them with a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere to help build their self-confidence and self-esteem. Join the fun and challenge yourself, family, or friends at this incredible event.
Swag items include a race shirt, finisher medals, and prizes for the top 3 finishers for both men and women. Post-race food will be provided by MISSION BBQ and Sam’s Club. Following the race there will be a free Kids Fun Run for children ages 8 and under.
