From Beloit PD:
Update at 9am: we were called at 3:39 a.m. this morning for a report of shots fired. The victim reported that the suspect had made threats toward the victim and then fired a shot into the air. Nothing was struck during this incident.
The suspect, Christopher J. Baumann, 38, of Beloit, was taken into custody without incident when the Tactical Operations Unit arrived on scene. He was arrested for recklessly endangering safety, felon in possession of a firearm, and disorderly conduct while armed.
Original: The Tactical Operations Unit was used this morning to safely take a suspect into custody for recklessly endangering safety and felon in possession of a firearm in the 1600 block of Wisconsin Avenue.
The victim in this incident was physically unharmed.
We expect to release more details later in the day as the investigation progresses.
