Protect-Serve-Recruit
– The PSR Center –
The Cherry Valley Police Department and Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office are excited to announce the opening of a new storefront inside Cherryvale Mall that is dedicated to community involvement, recruitment efforts and fostering stronger connections between law enforcement and the community.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Wednesday, December 18th at 2:00p.m. in front of the store, which is located inside the mall outside of Macy’s.
The center will serve as a vital resource for individuals interested in pursuing careers in law enforcement and corrections, as well as a space for community members to engage with law enforcement officers.
“We are thrilled to bring this new resource to our community,” said Cherry Valley Police Chief Todd Stockburger. “This storefront will not only assist us in recruiting the best candidates for the law enforcement profession but also strengthen the bond we share with those we serve. It’s important for us to be approachable, accessible and involved in the lives of the people in this community.”
Winnebago County Sheriff Gary Caruana, also expressed excitement for the collaboration between the Cherry Valley Police Department and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office. “Community policing is at the heart of what we do, and this center gives us a chance to directly connect with the public in a welcoming space. We’re looking forward to welcoming new potential applicants and continuing to work alongside the community to ensure public safety for everyone.”
This new storefront marks a significant step in building an even stronger relationship between law enforcement and the community we serve. The Cherry Valley Police Department and Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office are committed to working hand-in-hand with the residents of Cherry Valley and Winnebago County to create a safe, engaged and informed community.
