To bring awareness to the situation.
This happened recently at a few local businesses.
Copy/Paste:
“A male caller called and said he was a lieutenant and gave a badge number and asked to speak to the manager (which was my daughter) she talked to him and said he was lieutenant Byrnes and gave a badge number said he was calling on behalf of …… the owners of the restaurant and said they (the owners) gave him permission to reach out to the manager of (the restaurant) on behalf of the owners (caller knew their names) and to take x amount of dollars from each drawer of a specific safe. Caller had very specific details of owners name and safe details.
She was instructed to take out a specific amount of money from each drawer and to meet him at a specific location with the money. Had she taken the money out and met this person not only would she have been robbed but she would have most likely been trafficked.”
We do know:
This scam has allegedly happened at several local businesses.
Several women have allegedly been robbed and/or kidnapped.
Local police have chosen to encrypt their information and deny those claims.
