Independence Day Enforcement Numbers
Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, Drive High Get a DUI
Rockford, IL – The Rockford Police Department made three impaired driving arrests
and issued 31 seat belt citations during the recent Independence Day “Drive Sober or
Get Pulled Over,” “Drive High Get a DUI” and “Click It or Ticket” safety campaigns.
For this additional enforcement, officers worked an extra 97 enforcement hours and
stopped 104 vehicles. Other citations include:
Speeding 38
Distracted Driving 8
Suspended/Revoked DL 14
Misc. Citations 90
The Rockford Police Department joined forces with more than 200 other state and local
law enforcement agencies to get drunk and drugged drivers off our roads, encourage
seat belt use, and enforce speeding and other traffic laws. The effort featured high-
visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities including the “It’s
Not a Game” media campaign.
The enforcement period was funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the
Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled
Over,” “Drive High Get a DUI” and “Click It or Ticket” programs.
