UPDATE:
Timothy Chatman, one of the individuals wanted for the murder of Marquell Reddic,
is now in custody and lodged in the County Jail.

Charges in June 2024 Murder on Haskell
On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at approximately 6:11 p.m.,
Rockford Police officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Haskell Avenue
for reports of shots fired. While en route, officers received reports of a male gunshot
victim outside of the residence. When officers arrived, they located 29-year-old Marquell
Reddic on the sidewalk suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to
a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Rockford Police Violent Crimes Detectives continued the investigation into the murder
and identified two suspects, Eric Townsend Sr. and Timothy Chatman. They are not in
custody at this time.

As with any investigations, further details and charges may come at a later date.
The charges are merely accusations and all individuals are considered innocent unless
proven guilty in a court of law.
