Rockford Man Charged With Aggravated Discharge Of A Weapon
Around 7:30 pm last night, Rockford Police Department officers responded to a report of shots being fired and one person was struck by gunfire at a residence in the 2600 block of Lawndale Avenue.
Upon their arrival, the officers were notified a verbal argument between two adult men led to an exchange of gunfire. One of the men was shot but was unable to be located because residents would not cooperate with police.
Early this morning, Rockford Police SCOPE officers were notified by the UW Madison Police Department that Drakaar Malone, 35, arrived at a Madison, Wisconsin hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Malone was charged with two counts of Aggravated Discharge of a Weapon and one count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon.
The other individual mentioned last night that was being detained, ultimately was not charged after officials reviewed the facts of the case.
(The charges are only accusations and all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.)
