UPDATE: A body was recovered from the water per the WCSO on one local news outlet.
Nothing has been released publicly.
The identity and possible cause of death has yet to be released.
Allegedly What May Have Happened: Possible water rescue now possible body recovery
Alleged Approx. Location: Martin Rd & Blair St area/on Rock River
Alleged Approx. Time: 5:30 pm
At approximately 5:30 this afternoon emergency personnel were called to various areas off the Rock River to dock, primarily the Martin Road and Blair Street area, for reports of a person possibly in the water needing help.
Initial reports are a person allegedly called this in from the area north of the 20 bridge.
Martin Road is reported to be closed west of Kishwaukee Street for first responders.
Reports are that the possible person needing a water rescue is showing no signs of life and this may now possibly be a body recovery mission only.
Avoid the area awhile.
