The Family Peace Center (FPC), a local non-profit serving domestic violence survivors and their children, has named Angie Theisen as its new Development Director. The FPC is part of the Mayor’s Office on Domestic and Community Violence Prevention (MODCVP) and has been open in downtown Rockford for three years.

“The focus of the FPC is to bring together resources under one roof to help survivors of domestic violence,” says Jennifer Cacciapaglia, Executive Director. “We have grown so much in the three years since opening and, thanks to a grant from Woodward Charitable Trust, we were able to add Angie on staff to help with awareness and fund development.”

The Rockford area is fortunate to have many agencies in the area to help survivors, but trying to navigate it all can be overwhelming. “The FPC offers a place of solace, comfort and help to those survivors regardless of where they are in their journey,” says Theisen. “I’m proud to join this organization and invite groups and individuals to reach out to me at the FPC to learn more about what’s being done in Rockford to help survivors and bring resources and education to the community.”

Theisen was most recently the Development and Community Relations Manager for the Rockford Symphony Orchestra and previous Community Relations Manager for Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL. She has a Master’s Degree in Non-profit Administration from LSU.

The FPC’s next fundraising event will be an outdoor concert with Miles Nielsen and the Rusted Hearts on July 11 at the Rockford Country Club. For more information about the FPC and purchasing tickets for the concert, visit its website at www.rockfordfamilypeacecenter.org.
