We have received many reports of alleged large animal sightings.
As you know, the local officials never warn our community about these sightings.
Unless, they absolutely have too. So do not expect any information from officials.
Bear with me on this…
(Did you get the pun? 😛 )
I will begin with the one that has the most alleged sightings.
There have been several reports of a “large cat” out in the Rock Cut State Park area.
And just East/South East from the park, into Boone County. Several reports have said the large cat was near the Perryville/Hart area recently. Also, near Route 2 and the Rockford Airport.
It is unknown if there are more than one large cat, or if it is just one and it gets around a lot…
There have been a few reports of a very large bird.
Most describing it as being very dark in color.
A large White Ring around its neck.
A large bill probably 7 inches or so that has a hook at the end of the bill.
Many described it as having a large neck, approx. at least 8 inches or so long.
It is reported to have claw like feet.
Most described the claws or talons at 3 in the front, and 1 in the back.
Turkey Vultures or the Golden Eagle, or condors are probably the biggest birds we will see in our area. However, all of the reports said this large bird was larger than the size of a Cessna Airplane!
Much larger than any of those birds…
Most of the reports have said it appeared as if it was riding the storm fronts.
All but 3 of the reports, said their sightings were just before a strong storm that hit our area.
A good reason to get your heads out of your cell phones and off of facebook.
And look up to the skies!
The infamous bear is reported to be back in our area… Again

We have gotten several reports of an alleged Black Bear in the Southern part of Winnebago County. It has been reported to have been spotted in several large fields.
There are reports of on alleged pack of wolves that have been spotted in the same area as the alleged bear sightings. Most of the reports have been down near the airport and landfill areas.
With all that being said.
