Cherry Valley Police released a update on last night’s accident that took out a pole and caused power outages as well as a armed subject report at Cherry Bowl at the same time.
On Friday March 8 at approximately 10:42 pm, Cherry Valley Police Officers responded to a report of a rollover crash at Newburg Road and Whiteoak Trail. As a result of the crash, a power pole was damaged and there was a power outage to the surrounding areas. One subject from the crash was transported to a local hospital and cited for driving under the influence of alcohol.
At approximately 10:56 pm, Cherry Valley Police Officers and deputies from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an armed subject at the Cherry Bowl shortly after the crash and when the Cherry Bowl was also without power.
The armed subject was described by dispatch as a “skinny black male.”
Officers checked the building and area and no gun was located.
Cherry Valley Police will conduct a additional follow-up, but no additional information pertaining to the potential suspect is known at this time.
