Allegedly What May Have Happened: Accident/possibly a chase involved accident with RPD into Loves Park
Alleged Approx. Location: E Riverside Blvd and Sinkiawic Pkwy
Alleged Approx. Time: 3:45 pm
At approximately 3:45 this afternoon emergency personnel from Loves Park Fire were called by the Rockford Police to the area of E Riverside Blvd and Sinkiawic Pkwy for an accident with extrication needed. This accident was allegedly from one vehicle being pursued by Rockford Police.
Initial reports are the alleged suspect being pursued from police hit another vehicle, causing injuries to at least two people. Multiple reports stated a officer from The Rockford Police Department had the alleged suspect driver/vehicle stopped at gunpoint while waiting for more emergency personnel.
Two ambulances were dispatched and extrication was needed for at least one person trapped inside a vehicle.
One person was said to have serious injuries.
One person was also allegedly cuffed and arrested.
We will update if official information is released.
