Allegedly What May Have Happened: Incident Blocking Traffic @ Busy Intersection
Alleged Approx. Location: S Alpine Rd & Broadway
Alleged Approx. Time: 5:45 pm
We aren’t absolutely certain since authorities haven’t officially released anything, obviously, but I believe we’re *pretty sure* this is what went down…
At approximately 5:00 this afternoon multiple calls were coming in to the 911 center regarding a vehicle allegedly driving erratically and the driver appeared to be intoxicated or possibly suffering a medical emergency.
The vehicle was spotted and stopped in the area of S Trainer Road and Laurel Cherry Drive. A Rockford Fire Department ambulance had stopped and was trying to check on the driver of the vehicle when the vehicle allegedly fled the scene.
Police already had the call and were en route when the vehicle allegedly fled, so a chase ensued.
Police ultimately had a vehicle, possibly the vehicle in question, now at S Alpine Road and Broadway. Police requested medical for the driver and they were transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
Avoid the area awhile as traffic is being delayed…
