Allegedly What May Have Happened: Combine & field fire
Alleged Approx. Location: 10800 block of Old River Road
Alleged Approx. Time: 1:25 pm
At approximately 1:25 this afternoon emergency personnel were called to the 10800 block of Old River Road for reports a combine caught on fire out in the field and now the field is also on fire.
A Mabas Box 13 to the box level was called out by the Rockton Fire Department for mutual aid with this possible growing fire.
No injuries have been reported as of yet.
Avoid the area awhile.
Per The Rockton Fire Protection District:
COMBINE & CORN FIELD FIRE: Rockton Fire Personnel were called to this combine and corn field fire at 1:25 this afternoon (11-16). The fire occurred in the 10800 block of Old River Road. High winds fueled this fast moving fire and a MABAS alarm was activated bringing in more assistance from surrounding communities. The combine was a total loss and approximately 40 acres was consumed in the fire. Chief Wilson commends the hard work that the responding fire companies endured bringing this stubborn fire under control. A heartfelt thank you to the mutual aid companies that covered our community as well. Strong work by all.
