Work continues on the Broadway Road Diet Project. This safety project consists of narrowing the
roadway from 22th Street to Eastgate Pkwy. Substantial completion for this project is November
3, 2023.
This construction will require the traffic lanes to be reduced from two lanes of traffic in each
direction to one lane in each direction. All appropriate traffic control measures and marked detour
routes will be in place to help safely guide traffic through the closure and to East High School.
Local residents will have full access to their homes during the closure and all mail services,
deliveries, trash pickup and emergency services will not be interrupted during the closure for
residents. All businesses remain open throughout construction.
Expect major delays in travel time during this construction.
Through traffic is advised to find an alternative route during this time.
The Broadway Road Diet project is a traffic safety initiative that will be narrowing the roadway to
reduce speeding and provide better pedestrian accommodations across Broadway. The project
consists of narrowing the roadway to three lanes at a reduced lane width to increase friction and
awareness to calm traffic behavior. It will also consist of enhanced pedestrian signal
accommodations at 28th Street.
