Allegedly What May Have Happened: Scene at Kohl’s/possible robbery
Location: 10153 N 2nd Street/Machesney Park
Time: 5:50 pm
At approximately 5:50 this evening emergency personnel were called to the Kohl’s located at 10153 N 2nd Street in Machesney Park, for police requesting medical for reports of two people needing medical treatment.
It is unclear exactly what happened, dispatch for medical stated one patient had a possible seizure, unknown why the other person needed medical or if a officer was possibly injured.
Initial reports we received were saying at least one person had been tackled to the ground by police for a possible robbery/robbery attempt. We’ve received a couple updated reports saying this was one of those “grab & dash” type shoplifting/robberies.
Police logs indicated police responded to the Kohl’s for a “in progress person life safety” situation. In the past these logs have been used for a variety of calls where a persons life and/or safety were being threatened, including robberies.
Two people were transported by ambulances to local hospitals from this incident.
The extent of any injuries is unknown.
