Allegedly What May Have Happened: Possible Shooting Victim
Location: 8750 N 2nd St/Machesney Park Mall
Time: 6:45 pm
At approximately 6:45 this evening emergency personnel were called to the old Machesney Park Mall, 8750 N 2nd Street, for reports of a shooting victim.
Along with multiple medical crews from local fire departments, MD1 was also dispatched and is currently on scene.
Initial reports are the injured person(s) was in the northeast corner of the mall by the storage facility.
There’s a very large police presence and multiple medical crews on scene.
This a developing situation and we will update as we receive further details…
Avoid the area.
*We have heard at least one person has been transported from the scene by ambulance to a local hospital.
Update: Multiple reports are now saying this incident was the result of a large fight and one person was battered, not shot, and it was a battery victim that was transported by ambulance.
(The call did come in across dispatch as a possible shooting.)
