What May Have Allegedly Happened.
Based on the current information
That has currently been provided to us.
On Saturday, August 19, 2023, at approximately 10:50 p.m., Rockford Police
officers responded to reports of an armed robbery in the 1700 block of Rural Street. Minutes
later, officers also responded to the 1400 block of Greenwood Avenue for an additional report of
an armed robbery with the same suspect description. For the first robbery, officers were advised
that as a man and woman exited Rural on Tap, the suspect, a black male with a thin build, early
20’s, short braids, riding a bike and armed with a handgun, demanded cash and rode off.
Minutes later, the suspect did the same thing in the 1400 block of Greenwood as a man and
woman were unloading their vehicle. A short time later, the suspect’s bicycle was located in the
1500 block of E. State Street.
