Sources are reporting an automobile accident in Rockford.
Initial reports are saying that just before 3 pm today.
A garbage truck and a box truck collided near Main and Brown.
First reports were saying that possible extrication was needed.
However, the extrication unit was canceled while en route to the scene.
So, there was no extrication needed. Everyone was able to escape.
There were injuries being reported.
At the time of writing this,
It was unknown on the severity of the injuries.
Sounds like traffic might be backed up in the area.
You may want to avoid the area for a bit.
Or expect possible traffic delays.
It is unknown if Rockford PD were the ones investigating the accident.
Or if it is Illinois State Police, because of the commercial vehicles involved.
The cause of the accident is unknown.
