Freeport Police asking for help with information on shots fired incident early Thursday morning…
SHOTS FIRED THURSDAY MORNING
On August 10, 2023, at approximately 4:00 AM, Freeport Police officers responded to the area of N Harlem Avenue and W Staver Street for a report of a single gunshot being fired. During the investigation, officer’s learned that a vehicle driven by the victim, a male aged 32 of Freeport, was driving in the area when the suspect shot at the victim’s vehicle. There were no injuries reported at this time. The shooting is not random and is not believed to be gang related.
The Freeport Police department is investigating the incident and is asking for anyone who has any information to contact either the Freeport Police Department at 815-235-8222, or Stateline Area Crime Stoppers at 866-TIPSNOW or through texting at Tip411.
