Rockford Man Identified and Charged in October 2022 Shooting

On Sunday, October 9, 2022, at 9:44 a.m., Rockford Police responded to the
area of Kilburn and Gilbert Avenues for a report of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, officers
located a 20-year-old female suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her
shoulder.

The Rockford Police Department’s Gang Crime Unit conducted a follow-up investigation into the
incident, and identified one of the suspects as 18 year-old, J’Zeon Aldridge.

After a review of the facts of the case, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized
the charges listed below for Aldridge. On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, members of the Rockford
Police Gang Crime Unit, Violent Crime Unit, Rockford Housing Authority Unit, and Intel Unit,
located and arrested J’Zeon Aldridge in the 600 block of Ranger Avenue. During the arrest,
Rockford Police Detectives located a handgun, modified to fire fully-automatic, plus over 70
grams of cannabis.

The charges are merely accusations and all individuals are considered innocent unless proven
guilty in a court of law.
