This morning, Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at approximately 11:20 a.m., Rockford Police
officers responded to the Illinois Bank and Trust location on Guilford Road for a robbery. Upon
arrival, officers were advised that the suspect, later identified as Richard Draeger, entered the
bank, approached the teller, and demanded money. He left with a small amount of cash. Draeger
was located outside of the bank, taken into custody, and lodged in the County Jail.
After a review of the facts of the case, The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office
authorized the charge listed below.

As with any and all investigations, there may be additional charges and arrests.
