While The Women Were Dropping
Their Kids Off At A School Bus Stop
– On Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Rockford Police officers
responded to the area of Rockford Ridge Apartments (formerly Concord Commons) for a fight
involving four adult women near a school bus stop. Upon arrival, officers learned that as four
adult women were dropping their children off at the bus stop, a verbal argument ensued. At
some point the verbal arguing escalated, and all four women started physically fighting. During
the fight, one of the women stabbed another, causing significant injury. She was then
transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Rockford Police Violent Crime Detectives reviewed the facts of the case with The Winnebago
County State’s Attorney’s Office, and the following charges were authorized:
Shatay Barney, 29, Rockford
Aggravated Battery w/ Deadly Weapon
Felony Mob Action
Andriana Carothers, 26, Rockford
Felony Mob Action
Ashlee Morris, 26, Rockford
Felony Mob Action
Lanora Fields, 28, Rockford
Felony Mob Action
The charges against them are merely accusations. They are considered innocent unless proven
guilty in a court of law.
