Several people have crashed into the fallen trees and debris.
Crews are working hard to clear the roadways
and cleaning up the storm debris.

This is what we know so far, As of 1:30 am
- NWS is reporting that trained spotters had visual confirmation on the alleged tornado,
As it hit the Caledonia, Poplar Grove, Candlewick area. - 1 confirmed fatality.
- 28 patients transported to hospitals
- 5 with severe injuries
- 18 with moderate injuries
- 5 with minor injuries
- Approx. 260 people were believed to have attended the concert.
Many people attending the concert, were believed to be from out of town. - Large scale response, Multiple jurisdictions responded to assist
- The roof and front awning collapse happened approx. 7:55 pm
- 2nd triage location at the nearby fire station
- Bands that were scheduled to play at the concert
* Morbid Angel,
* Revocation,
* Crypta,
* Skeletal Remains - Morbid Angel later released a statement saying:
“Tonights show is Canceled due to a Tornado that hit the Venue. We ask anyone who is still traveling to the venue to please seek shelter and stay safe. We are currently sheltering in place, and want to extend our support and hope that everyone at the show tonight is safe.
Right now our focus is on making sure everyone in the venue tonight is ok and gets home.”
Tainá Bergamaschi, guitarist of Crypta confirmed that all the bands are safe via an Instagram
After the collapse, and before 1st responders arrived:
Pretty much everyone we have talked to that was inside the Apollo Theater, are all saying; Many people became true heroes!
Several reports of many people staying inside and attempted to pull victims from the debris and perform first aid, without hesitation.
In Boone:
- Numerous gas leaks
- Numerous trees down
- Numerous power lines down
- Some barns are reported to have collapsed.
- Some horses inside one of the collapsed barns,
Are reported to have not been injured! - There are damages all over the Northern area in Boone County.
- The damage path appears to be a small confined area for width,
But in a very long line, that may have stretched for a couple of miles. - NWS has NOT confirmed if these damages were tornadic or straight line.
NWS has confirmed a trained spotter has visual confirmation on an alleged tornado in the same area. - Several accidents have been reported. Several vehicles have hit trees and debris.
In Winnebago:
- Numerous reports of trees and power lines down.
- An area near N Main (RT 2) and Old River, was hit hard.
- Tree damages near RT 2 and Old River
- Damages to roofs in the same area.
- Reports of dime sized hail that hit several areas in Winnebago County
- The following are reported to have been hit hard:
High Crest, Spring Creek, Rural, Guilford, Mulford, E Riverside
In OGLE County:
- Several farm structures destroyed in Northern Ogle County
As daylight breaks in a bit, more information should become available.
City of Rockford:
We are aware of several trees blocking roads, mostly on the northeast side of Rockford.
Our Public Works crews are working to get each roadway clear.
If possible, please stay home while crews work to clear the roads and restore utilities.
We also know there are some power outages.

If you are out and approach an intersection where stoplights are not working, treat it as a four-way stop.
Village of Roscoe:
Please be patient as Village of Roscoe Public Works and Utility Companies are still out cleaning up after last nights storm.
There are many trees and wires still down around the Village.
Illinois Governor released the following info:
My administration is closely monitoring the roof collapse at the Apollo Theatre in Belvidere tonight.
I’ve been in touch with officials for updates and to direct any available resources we can.
As we learn more, please follow the guidance of all local authorities.
