The Rockford Speedway, will just be a memory and not an experience…
Our opinion on what allegedly may have happened,
Based on the current information that has been provided to us.
Years ago, there was supposed to have been a large speedway that was going to be built in the Loves park area.
Sadly, the nearby neighbors threw a hissy fit. And NASCAR built the speedway over in the Chicago area.
The CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY…
Racing has been a huge part of the local history in our area.
The Rockford Speedway has provided entertainment for families for decades.
The racing community is very strong!
Sadly, WTVO did a story yesterday saying they were tearing it down after this season.
To build businesses. Sadly, not to renovate it or rebuild. But to tear it down.
The Rockford Speedway, will just be a memory and not an experience…
The Deery family has made it clear, they are selling the property.
However, there are some community members that are coming together to help prevent that from happening.
