Sources are reporting a scene in Rockford.
Initial reports are saying a Winnebago County Animal Control officer was sitting in the parking lot filing out reports at North Town Mall
When all of a sudden the 2 alleged suspects in the photo approached the animal control van and attempted to steal a dog, from inside the van.
The animal control officer intervened and prevented the theft.
The suspects were being disorderly towards the animal control officer.
Then the 2 suspects in the photo alleged pulled out bb guns and began firing at the
Winnebago County Animal Control van.
They then fled the scene.
