Update On Shooting Victim On Charles St/Dropped At RMH, Saturday December 17 per RPD:

He is in critical condition at this time, but is stable. Further details will follow in the next few days as we continue our investigation.

When: Approximately 12:30 am

Where: 2400 N Rockton Ave/old RMH

My opinion on what allegedly may have possibly happened,
Based on the information that has been currently provided:

At approximately 12:30 this morning emergency personnel were called to 2400 N Rockton Avenue, at the old Rockford Memorial, for reports a gunshot wound victim was said to have been dropped off outside the hospital.

(I remember a time when gunshot wound victims could actually be treated at this hospital, but I digress.)

Police and medical personnel from Rockford Fire were on scene and transported the shooting victim to another local hospital by ambulance with what we are told to be life threatening injuries.

The vehicle that dropped off the severely injured gunshot wound victim allegedly fled the scene.

The location of the actual shooting was said to be in the 2200 block of Charles Street.

We will update if we receive further information or if RPD releases anything.

Per RPD: SHOOTING INVESTIGATION: Adult male sustained life-threatening injuries in the 2200 block of Charles Street. Please avoid the area as investigate
