On Friday, November 25, 2022, at approximately 6:05 p.m., Rockford
Police officers responded to the 1600 block of 5th Avenue for reports of shots fired. Upon arrival,
officers were advised that a 10-year-old sustained a minor wound when shots were fired towards
the residence. The house was struck multiple times, but no other injuries were sustained. The
juvenile was treated at a local hospital and released.
