My opinion on what allegedly may have possibly happened,
Based on the information that has been currently provided to Rockford Scanner:
Sources are reporting a child fell off a trailer in a local parade,
and was ran over. Still developing…
It happened around 5:20 pm near Elm and Clifford.
Initial reports are saying a child was participating in the light up the parks parade,
And fell off of a trailer. Several reports of a nearby vehicle has ran the child over.
Many of the reports said that a child approx. 5 years old.
Fell off of the trailer, and was face down when a vehicle ran over the child.
The last reports we had, was the child was alive.
UPDATE: Sources said the child is going to be OK.
Local police are encrypted, and have not released any information.
So like everything we post, nothing is confirmed.
There are reports of a large grass fire near the Sand Park Pool area,
That may have been caused by the firework show.
The fire is now out, and LPFD are just cleaning up the hotspots.
Sounds like the situation was under control, even though it seemed pretty big.

UPDATE from RS source:
was walking behind the trailer. The boy didn’t fall off the trailer. He was walking beside the trailer and he turned suddenly then kinda fell in front of the tire. The trailer’s (one of the flat wood ones with a metal frame, so not extremely heavy) tire did go over him. A few of the parents with medical experience were immediately at his side and EMS was minutes away. The boy was taken to the hospital and released late last night. After lots of rest today he is fine except that his foot is sore
