My opinion on what allegedly may have possibly happened, 
Based on the information that has been currently provided: 

 

On Saturday, November 5, 2022, at approximately 11:25
p.m., Rockford Police officers observed a stolen vehicle at the Mobil Gas Station (7250 E. State
Street), occupied by four juveniles. Officers observed the vehicle drive eastbound towards Bell
School Road, where it subsequently crashed. All four occupants fled on foot, but were
apprehended and taken into custody. Officers located and recovered a loaded handgun from
inside the vehicle.
The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the facts of the case and authorized
the charges listed below.

Juvenile Male, 16, Rockford
Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon
Leaving the Scene of an Accident
Resisting Arrest
Various Traffic Offenses

Juvenile Male, 15, Rockford
Criminal Trespass to Vehicle

Resisting Arrest
