Based on the information that has been currently provided:
Taft Road over Southeast Drainageway Culvert Load Posting
Per a recent Structure Load Rating Summary analysis and notice from the Illinois Department of
Transportation, the Taft Road over Southeast Drainageway Culvert (SN 101-6081) has been load
posted at maximum weight limit of the following:
SINGLE VEHICLE: 29 TONS
COMBINATIONS 3 OR 4 AXLES: 41 TONS
5 OR MORE: 41 TONS
Signs and traffic control devices will be installed to warn the travelling public of the posting. City
Staff is currently working on a plan to bolster the structural capacity of this structure to remove
the restriction.
Routine inspections will continue to ensure the safety of the travelling public.
Heavy vehicle users of this structure are advised to be aware of this posting and take a proper
alternative route.
