Update Per RPD:
UPDATE: A 35-year-old male succumbed to his injuries from the traffic crash late last night on S. Pierpont Avenue. We are investigating the cause of the crash and further details may be provided at a later date.
When: Approximately 11:15 pm
Where: S Peirpont Ave and Estelle Dr
My opinion on what allegedly may have possibly happened,
Based on the information that has been currently provided:
At approximately 11:15 this evening emergency personnel were called to the area of S Pierpont Avenue and Estelle Drive in Rockford for a accident involving a semi and a sedan.
The sedan sustained heavy front end damage and required two different extrication companies to free the driver who was said to be unresponsive but breathing.
The driver was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with possible serious injuries.
The driver of the semi was reporting no injuries/no medical needed.
Avoid the area awhile or expect possible delays.
