My opinion on what allegedly may have possibly happened,
Based on the information that has been currently provided:

ROCKFORD, Ill. – On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at approximately 12:50 p.m., Rockford
Police detectives observed a vehicle, reported stolen out of Chicago, in the area of Harrison/S.
Main and attempted a traffic stop. Both occupants, later identified as George Elie and Curtez
Woods, fled on foot when the vehicle became disabled, but were located a short time later near
Clifton and Cole Avenues. They were taken into custody and lodged in the County Jail. During the
investigation, detectives located and recovered two loaded handguns.
The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the facts of the case and authorized
the charges listed below.

George Elie, 29, Rockford

Armed Habitual Criminal

Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon
Possession of a Stolen Firearm
Criminal Trespass to Vehicle
Resisting Arrest

Curtez Woods, 27, Rockford

Armed Habitual Criminal

Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon
Resisting Arrest
Various Traffic Offenses

The charges against them are merely accusations. They are considered innocent unless proven
guilty in a court of law.
