My opinion on what may have possibly happened,
Based on the information that has been currently provided:
Boone County Sheriff Office:
On October 24th, 2022, at approximately 8:15 pm, Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 4100 block of Cherry Valley Road in rural Cherry Valley for a two vehicle accident.
Preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle traveling west on Cherry Valley Road west of Rosetter Road was stopped on the roadway. The vehicle may have become disabled and the driver was out of the vehicle. Another vehicle also traveling west struck the vehicle and the driver.
Boone County District #2 Fire and OSF Lifeline Ambulance responded to the scene. The driver of the suspected disabled vehicle was pronounce deceased at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
The deceased driver is a male in his late 40s. The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time.
