My opinion on what may have possibly happened,
Based on the information that has been currently provided:

At approximately 5:05 this evening emergency personnel were called to reports of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle during a auto accident in the 8400 block of Elm Avenue in Machesney Park.

Initial reports are the pedestrian hit is a teenager. Two ambulances have been requested, one for the pedestrian and one for a driver of the vehicle.

The severity of injuries is unknown at this time but there are believed to be serious injuries to the pedestrian.

Avoid the area or expect delays.
